Job summary

As a per diem position, duties include patient service, scheduling, and record maintenance, with opportunities to coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges alongside the Charge Nurse.

Qualifications

• High School graduation or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills to efficiently communicate and process information regarding patients.
• One year of related experience in a similar setting.
• Completion of a Health Unit Coordinator course or related certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service to patients, families, and the cross-functional team.
• Facilitates communications - scheduling, coverage of telephones and nurse call systems.
• Maintains patient records, CPOE and unit census records on a daily basis.
• Coordinates admissions, transfers and discharges to the Charge Nurse and appropriate departments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
