Job summary

EvergreenHealth in Kirkland, WA is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact for families and visitors in the NICU. The HUC coordinates clerical and reception duties, facilitates communication among the care team, and supports daily operations to ensure smooth care for our smallest patients.

Responsibilities include providing customer service, scheduling, telephones and nurse call coverage, maintaining patient records, admissions, transfers and discharges, and

Qualifications

• High School graduation or equivalent.
• Must possess excellent communication skills to efficiently communicate and process information regarding patients.
• One year of related experience preferred.
• Completion of medical terminology course and/or Health Unit Coordinator training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service to patients, families, and cross-functional team.
• Facilitates communications - scheduling, coverage of telephones and nurse call systems.
• Maintains patient records, CPOE and unit census records daily.
• Coordinates admissions, transfers and discharges to the Charge Nurse and appropriate departments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
