Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Dietitian to support nutritional care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This role involves nutrition assessments, staff education, and policy development, working closely within a multidisciplinary team.

Job Summary

The Clinical Dietitian supports the mission of Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center to optimize quality of life for all patients. The NICU dietitian works within a multidisciplinary team to provide nutritional care for infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Responsibilities include nutrition assessment and intervention, education of staff and families, development of policies and procedures, participation in data collection projects, and serving as a consultant to the entire healthcare team. The position may perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Arts in Food & Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited college or university, or a master’s degree in the field.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license; and/or Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) or Certified Specialist in Pediatrics (CSP).
• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in a NICU preferred.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Supervision: general guidance by the Clinical Nutrition Manager; work independently following departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of growth and developmental needs of patients and families; able to respond to behaviors at different age categories.
