Job summary

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, Division of State Police, Justice Information Bureau – Criminal Records, seeks a UCR/NIBRS Program Specialist to ensure compliance with FBI UCR and NIBRS standards and to support data-driven policing across agencies.

The role involves research, training, and acting as a liaison for NIBRS submissions, audits, and data quality. Trainee options are available and a full-time 37.5-hour week is typical.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree and 2 years of experience OR equivalent combination of 4 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in criminal justice, data management, analytics, information systems or a related field.
  • License/Certification: Valid driver's license or access to statewide travel.
  • Other Requirements: Must pass a background investigation including a fingerprint-based criminal record check and motor vehicle record check.
  • Trainee Option: Candidates with an equivalent combination of 3+ years of relevant education and experience after completion of high school may be considered and hired in ‘trainee status’ for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Research and reviews State RSAs to determine alignment of reporting specifications to FBI UCR standards.
  • Provide technical expertise of NIBRS system use to boards, committees, and vendors.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports with analytical depictions on crime trends.
  • Respond to NH Law Enforcement with troubleshooting and clarification of policies.
