Job summary

Maryland Oncology Hematology is seeking an experienced Laboratory Scientist to perform high and moderate complexity sequencing tests, including DNA/RNA extraction, library prep, sequencing, and data analysis for patient samples.

Responsibilities include maintaining NextSeq 500DX and NovaSeq 6000 instruments, adhering to SOPs, running QC, and collaborating with clinicians to translate NGS results into patient care.

Qualifications

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field
• Alternative: Baccalaureate with major in molecular biology/Genetics/Biochemistry/biological science or chemistry plus biology/chemistry coursework
• At least 1 year of hands‑on NGS experience; 3+ years is a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate/high complexity testing and sequencing data analysis
• Maintain and operate sequencing instruments and QC procedures
• Collaborate with clinical staff to integrate NGS data into patient care
• Prepare reagents, documentation, and SOP updates
