Job summary

Foundation Medicine is seeking a Molecular Technologist I to perform complex patient sample testing with limited supervision. You will prepare reagents, maintain equipment, and handle specimens on onsite shifts, following SOPs and GDP.

Experience in a CAP/CLIA regulated lab and NYSDOH-compliant education is preferred. Responsibilities include NGS library prep, nucleic acid extraction, hybridization capture, and operating NGS instruments and liquid handlers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or life science (per NYSDOH regulatory requirements).
• 1+ years of molecular laboratory work experience in a CAP/CLIA regulated lab.
• Certifications or licensure required by the state or county where the job is posted.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the NGS library.
• Under limited supervision, extract nucleic acids and perform sequencing methods.
• Operate automated liquid handling platforms and NGS instruments.
• Maintain quality and efficiency to meet Turn Around Time (TAT).
• Document steps per GDP and use LIMS to track processing.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and participate in QA and CAPA activities.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain lab organization.
