Job summary

LGC Group is seeking a Lab Services Technician to join our Genomics facilities team in the United States. You will process client samples for DNA sequencing, prepare libraries, and support the Lab Services group with precise lab operations.

The role requires an associate degree in a science field, experience with nucleic acid extraction and PCR, and the ability to work with automated lab equipment. We offer a strong benefits package and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in a scientific field is required.
• Ability to handle a pipettor and basic lab equipment accurately.
• Experience in extraction and quantification of nucleic acids and PCR.
• Reliable attendance and performance track record.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, label, and store client samples as per SOPs and work instructions.
• Prepare tissue samples for extraction and quantify DNA per SOPs.
• Independently build NGS libraries from client DNA with mentorship.
• Operate automated lab equipment safely and accurately.
• Prepare buffers and solutions for lab use.
• Dispose of waste following established protocols.
• Update IT systems to track work and client samples accurately.
• Collaborate with Lab Services team and others across the organization.
• Assess sample quality and determine actions with management.
• Contribute to a safe, clean lab environment and maintain labware.
