Job summary

STI Federal in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Biological Technician, Level 2 to support next‑generation sequencing (NGS) workflows, including nucleic acid extraction, library preparation, amplification, and sequencing of respiratory viruses.

You will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot NGS platforms, document results in compliant records, and apply basic bioinformatics to assist data interpretation; a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with molecular biology techniques and/or NGS workflows.
• Experience in a regulated or quality-controlled lab is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scientific and technical activities supporting NGS workflows for sequencing respiratory viruses.
• Independently execute end-to-end NGS workflows: extraction, library prep, amplification, sequencing, and QC.
• Operate and troubleshoot NGS platforms and lab instrumentation per SOPs.
• Assist with development and validation of NGS assays and workflows.
• Maintain accurate lab records and ensure compliance with biosafety requirements.
