Responsibilities

• Create internal reports, dashboards, and visualizations for campus stakeholders using PowerBI.
• Assist in collection, organization, and analysis of institutional data related to student success and experience.
• Assist with survey administration, data cleaning, and writing of summary reports and presenting findings to a non-technical audience.
• Conduct literature reviews or benchmarking research to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
• Help ensure data accuracy and consistency in reporting processes.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions related to assessment, planning, and data strategy.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support Institutional Research office work.

The Graduate Student Research Assistant supports the ULV Office of Institutional Research by assisting with data analysis, reporting, and research tasks related to institutional effectiveness. This role offers valuable professional experience in higher education research while contributing to the university’s mission through data-informed decision-making. The ideal candidate is a graduate student with solid analytical skills, attention to detail, strong initiative, and a desire to learn more about institutional research and the role of data in higher education.

• Create internal reports, dashboards, and visualizations for campus stakeholders using PowerBI.
• Assist in the collection, organization, and analysis of institutional data related to student success and experience.
• Assist with survey administration, data cleaning, and writing of summary reports as well as presenting findings to a non-technical audience.
• Conduct literature reviews or benchmarking research to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
• Help ensure data accuracy and consistency in reporting processes.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions related to assessment, planning, and data strategy.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the work of the Institutional Research office and Academic Program Development.

• Bachelor’s degree in the business, data analytics, computer science, or other related field.
• Knowledge of SQL .
• Experience with querying relational databases using SQL .
• Experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment.

Benefits Summary

One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours.

University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan – can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds.

In accordance with the Affordable Care Act ( ACA ), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.

Covered under the University of La Verne Workers Compensation Insurance.
