• New NFHS Heat Illness Prevention course must be completed annually.
• NFHS COVID-19 course completion is required for coaches.

Responsibilities

• State law and district health and safety policies must be followed by coaches.
• AD should maintain concussion certificate on file every year.
• AD should maintain Sudden Cardiac Arrest certificate on file every year.
• All coaches must complete NFHS Heat Illness Prevention and COVID-19 courses as applicable.

Responsibilities

Non-faculty Coaches and Classified Employee Coaches must complete the NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching” and “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” courses prior to assuming the position. Coaches who have successfully completed the ASEP Coaches Education Course prior to May 15, 2013, will not be required to take the NFHS courses.
