Job summary

East Lake Academy of Fine Arts in Chattanooga, TN is seeking qualified coaches to support athletic programs and ensure student safety and compliance with state and association rules.

Coaches must complete NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, First Aid, Health & Safety, and related certifications, with ASEP credits considered for prior exemptions where applicable. Ongoing training and adherence to policy are expected.

Qualifications

• Coaches must complete NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching and First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches prior to assuming the position.
• If ASEP coaches education was completed before May 15, 2013, it will exempt the coach from NFHS courses.

• School Level AD should keep concussion Certificate on file every year.
• School Level AD should keep Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificate on file every year.

• When applicable, completion of First Aid, Health, & Safety should be on file.

East Lake Academy of Fine Arts is a 6-8 magnet school located in Chattanooga, TN. We are a community school and offer a wide range of activities before and after school for our students including aquaponics and Tech Goes Home. We work on building capacity and preparing future leaders for promotion opportunities.

We are a community school and offer a wide range of activities before and after school for our students including aquaponics and Tech Goes Home. We work on building capacity and preparing future leaders for promotion opportunities.

We support our teachers through a new teacher mentor program with informal support and feedback. We have monthly opportunities for professional development including technology, classroom management, and curriculum planning. Our teachers enjoy stipends for extra planning before and after school and on weekends.

We are looking for teachers who take initiative and who are coachable, flexible, student-focused, collaborative, and team players.

Non-faculty Coaches and Classified Employee Coaches must complete the NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching” and “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” courses prior to assuming the position. Coaches who have successfully completed the ASEP Coaches Education Course prior to May 15, 2013, will not be required to take the NFHS courses.
