Central High School, part of the Hamilton County Department of Education, seeks a head boys/girls coach to lead athletic programs and uphold safety standards. The position requires adherence to NFHS and state safety requirements, annual concussion and cardiac certifications, and compliance with TSSAA policies.

Qualifications

• NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching and First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches courses must be completed prior to assuming the position.
• If ASEP Coaches Education Course was completed prior to May 15, 2013, that will exempt the NFHS courses.

Responsibilities

• State Law health-safety policies must be followed (link provided).
• Maintain concussion certification on file every year.
• Maintain Sudden Cardiac Arrest certification on file every year.
• Comply with TSSAA/TMSAA health-safety policies (links provided).
• When applicable, complete and keep on file the NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching certificate.
• When applicable, complete and keep on file the NFHS First Aid, Health, & Safety certificate.
• When applicable, complete and keep on file the NFHS Heat Illness Prevention course (annual).
• All coaches must complete the NFHS COVID-19 course.

Responsibilities

Non-faculty Coaches and Classified Employee Coaches must complete the NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching” and “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” courses prior to assuming the position. Coaches who have successfully completed the ASEP Coaches Education Course prior to May 15, 2013, will not be required to take the NFHS courses.
