Qualifications

• Complete NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching and First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches before assuming the position.
• Completion of NFHS Heat Illness Prevention required; copies on file annually when applicable.
• All coaches must complete NFHS COVID-19 Course.
• When applicable, ASEP Coaches Education prior to May 15, 2013 exempted from NFHS courses.

Responsibilities

• Coaches must complete required NFHS and health/safety courses prior to starting.
• Maintain and update health and safety certificates and concussion documentation on file annually.
• Adhere to state and association health and safety policies and links provided in the overview.
• Ensure copies of required certificates are kept on file as applicable.

Responsibilities

Non-faculty Coaches and Classified Employee Coaches must complete the NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching” and “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” courses prior to assuming the position. Coaches who have successfully completed the ASEP Coaches Education Course prior to May 15, 2013, will not be required to take the NFHS courses.

• School Level AD should keep concussion Certificate- Copy on file every year.
• School Level AD should keep Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificate- Copy on file every year.

• When applicable, completion of "First Aid, Health, & Safety"- Copy on file.
