Job summary

Hamilton County Department of Education is seeking a Track and Field assistant coach to support the high school athletics program. This role involves assisting with practice plans, event management, and athlete development under the athletic director.

Applicants must complete NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching and First Aid, Health & Safety for Coaches, and NFHS COVID-19 courses; ASEP certification may waive some requirements.

Qualifications

• Must complete NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching and First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches prior to assuming the position.
• ASEP Coaches Education Course completed prior to May 15, 2013 exempts from NFHS courses.
• When applicable, complete NFHS Heat Illness Prevention course and maintain copies on file.
• All coaches must complete the NFHS COVID-19 Course.

Responsibilities

Non-faculty Coaches and Classified Employee Coaches must complete the NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching” and “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” courses prior to assuming the position. Coaches who have successfully completed the ASEP Coaches Education Course prior to May 15, 2013, will not be required to take the NFHS courses.

• School Level AD should keep concussion Certificate- Copy on file every year.
• School Level AD should keep Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificate- Copy on file every year.
