Job summary

Central High School in Chattanooga seeks qualified coaches for non-faculty and classified coaching roles dedicated to safety, development, and competitive excellence. Coaches must complete NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching and First Aid, Health & Safety courses, and annually renew concussion and cardiac arrest certifications.

Adherence to TSSAA/TMSAA health and safety policies is required, with ongoing compliance and record-keeping.

Qualifications

• State Law training related to health and safety.
• Concussion certificate to be kept on file annually.
• Sudden Cardiac Arrest certificate to be kept on file annually.
• TSSAA/TMSAA health and safety policies.
• Fundamentals of Coaching (NFHS) course when applicable.
• First Aid, Health & Safety for Coaches (NFHS) course when applicable.
• NFHS Heat Illness Prevention course (annual).
• NFHS COVID-19 course for coaches and administrators.

Responsibilities

Non-faculty Coaches and Classified Employee Coaches must complete the NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching” and “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” courses prior to assuming the position. Coaches who have successfully completed the ASEP Coaches Education Course prior to May 15, 2013, will not be required to take the NFHS courses.
