Responsibilities

  • Non‑faculty Coaches and Classified Employee Coaches must complete NFHS core courses prior to assuming the position.
  • Ensure completion of required health and safety certificates annually.
  • Maintain documentation for concussion and cardiac arrest certificates.
  • Ensure compliance with TSSAA/TMSAA health‑and‑safety policies.
  • Complete any applicable NFHS Heat Illness Prevention trainings and COVID‑19 courses.

Responsibilities

Non‑faculty Coaches and Classified Employee Coaches must complete the NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching” and “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” courses prior to assuming the position. Coaches who have successfully completed the ASEP Coaches Education Course prior to May 15, 2013, will not be required to take the NFHS courses.




  • State Law (link- https://tssaa.org/health-safety-policies )

  • School Level AD should keep concussion Certificate- Copy on file every year.

  • School Level AD should keep Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificate- Copy on file every year.

  • . When applicable, completion of "Fundamentals of Coaching"- Copy on file.

  • When applicable, completion of "First Aid, Health, & Safety"- Copy on file.
