Job summary

Hamilton County Department of Education seeks qualified coaches for middle school programs, requiring completion of NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching and First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches prior to commencing duties.

Coaches must maintain concussion and Sudden Cardiac Arrest certificates on file annually and comply with TSSAA/TMSAA health policies; NFHS Heat Illness Prevention and COVID-19 courses are also required as applicable.

Qualifications

• Must complete NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching and First Aid, Health & Safety for Coaches prior to assuming position.
• Adhere to state law and TSSAA/TMSAA health requirements; certificates kept on file annually.
• Complete NFHS courses (Heat Illness Prevention and COVID-19) as applicable and maintain copies on file.

Responsibilities

• Non-faculty Coaches and Classified Employee Coaches must complete required NFHS courses before starting the position.
• Ensure certificates such as Sudden Cardiac Arrest and concussion certificates are kept on file yearly.
• Comply with state and association health and safety policies as part of coaching duties.

Responsibilities

Non-faculty Coaches and Classified Employee Coaches must complete the NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching” and “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” courses prior to assuming the position. Coaches who have successfully completed the ASEP Coaches Education Course prior to May 15, 2013, will not be required to take the NFHS courses.
