Job summary

AccuScan Sciences is seeking a Bioinformatics Engineer to develop, optimize, and maintain bioinformatics pipelines using AWS and Nextflow. You will collaborate with scientists, engineers, and researchers to advance our bioinformatics capabilities.

The role emphasizes automation, reproducible data analysis, testing, and clear documentation, with ongoing opportunities to improve infrastructure efficiency and security across cloud workloads and pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology/CS, with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience with bioinformatics workflow development and optimization, particularly Nextflow.
• Experience developing software following best practices, including testing and clear documentation.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud computing services (EC2, S3, Batch, Lambda).
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test robust bioinformatics pipelines with documentation.
• Optimize computational workflows for performance and reproducibility.
• Maintain and improve pipeline automation for smooth operations.
• Manage GitHub repositories, version control, and releases.
• Develop and manage AWS infrastructure for scalability and reliability.
