Job summary

OnTrac Solutions LLC. seeks a Software Engineer (Bioinformatics Pipelines) to join a contractor program supporting a genomics unit in a healthcare customer.

The role focuses on engineering pipelines' quality, performance, automation, and operations, for a 12–18 month engagement with remote work in the United States. The candidate must have hands-on production experience with Python, Bash, Nextflow, and strong bioinformatics pipeline development skills, plus experience with on-prem HPC systems

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals applied to bioinformatics pipelines, with a focus on software quality, performance tuning, automation, and operational support.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve genomics pipelines in the on-prem HPC environment.
• Tune pipeline performance and automate recurring engineering tasks.
• Provide operational support and troubleshoot pipeline failures in data movement/delivery.
• Implement and maintain integrations between pipelines and laboratory systems and sequencing instruments.
