Job summary

Gateway Church seeks a Next Steps Associate Pastor to support the Next Steps Pastor by overseeing campus assimilation paths, growth path sessions, guest follow-up, baptisms, and new-member onboarding.

You will mentor the Serve Team, manage weekly oversights, track metrics, and ensure personal connection for every person taking a next step. This is a full-time campus role focusing on pastoral care, leadership development, and service to the congregation.

Qualifications

• Clear calling and biblical foundation for ministry leadership.
• Experience leading and developing staff and volunteers.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; minister licensing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Next Steps Pastor by delivering campus assimilation paths.
• Leads and pastors the Serve Team and congregants served.
• Builds, trains, and retains the Serve Team for their area.
• Conducts weekly one-on-one oversights for development.
• Maintains a pipeline of leaders with backups for each role.
• Manages budget for their area and spends within approved threshold.
• Ensures completion of all reporting for attendance, salvations, etc.
• Coordinates baptisms, membership, and new-member onboarding.
