Job summary

Gateway Church seeks a Next Steps Associate Pastor to support the Next Steps Pastor by overseeing the campus assimilation path and delivering key touchpoints including Growth Path sessions, guest follow-up, baptisms, and membership. The role ensures every person taking a next step is personally seen, supported, and connected.

The position partners with Groups and ministry leaders to build Serve Teams, mentor staff, manage budgets, track metrics, and provide weekend pastoral care and teaching

Qualifications

• Two or more years of ministry experience — required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience — required.
• Licensed as a minister, or eligible to be licensed upon employment — required.
• Prior multisite church experience — preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Next Steps Pastor and deliver Next Steps at campus.
• Lead Serve Team; recruit, train, retain and appreciate volunteers.
• Oversee weekly oversight with direct reports for development.
• Build leadership pipelines and budget accountability for area.
• Coordinate baptisms, membership, and new-member onboarding.
• Ensure timely follow-up with guests and next-step connections.
• Teach Biblical principles and model pastoral care.
