Job summary

State-of-West-Virgini in the Newborn Screening Section is seeking a mid-level laboratory specialist to support routine newborn testing. You will receive and process specimens, enter demographic and specimen data into the LIMS, and perform data-entry checks to ensure accuracy.

Duties may include receiving supplies and preparing specimen collection kits. Work is conducted under general supervision in a clinical laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of full-time or equivalent laboratory experience.
• An associate degree in laboratory science or medical technology may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process incoming specimens for laboratory testing.
• Enter demographic and specimen data into the LIMS.
• Perform data-entry checks on data entered into the LIMS.
• May receive and distribute supplies and assist with preparing specimen collection kits.
