Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is hiring a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital-based hearing screens for newborns. You will work on-site at hospital locations and receive on-the-job training, including annual American Academy of Audiology-certified training.

You will educate parents, ensure screen readiness, and manage data and follow-up tasks. The role emphasizes patient education, accurate data collection, and timely reporting, with support from a Site Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR Certification or ability to obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays.
• Entry-level experience in healthcare preferred (newborns/medical setting).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens and educate parents on screening importance.
• Evaluate patient readiness for screening (fed, quiet, calm).
• Collect data/demographics; perform screens and document results.
• Upload screen results, billing, and state reporting; reconcile statistics.
• Notify supervisor of missed or referred babies; schedule outpatient appointments when needed.
• Follow all policies and ensure patient education and satisfaction.
