Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is hiring a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician in Richmond, VA to perform hospital-based hearing screens for newborns and educate families on the relevance and next steps. You will work on-site at one or more hospital locations and participate in the screening process during each shift.

The role includes on-the-job training with annual American Academy of Audiology certification, supporting early detection and timely intervention for newborn hearing concerns.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CPR certification required or able to obtain.
• Flexibility to work weekends and national holidays.
• Experience with newborns or in a medical setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hearing screens and educate parents about results and next steps.
• Assess screen readiness and ensure reliable results.
• Collect baby demographics and document screening data per protocol.
• Coordinate with caregivers and schedule outpatient follow-ups as needed.
• Maintain efficient screens while upholding quality and safety.
