Job summary

Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, IL, invites applications for the Coordinator of New Student Onboarding in the Counseling Department at the Main Campus. This role leads pre-orientation and onboarding initiatives to welcome new students and ensure smooth transitions.

You will supervise Orientation Leaders, collaborate with faculty and advisors, develop procedures, and analyze data to improve programs, while maintaining strong communication with staff and diverse student groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or related field is required.
• Minimum 3 years of higher education experience; community college experience preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience coordinating orientation programming is required.
• One year of supervisory experience in a college or university is required.
• Strong leadership and collaboration with faculty, advisors, and counselors during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction on pre-orientation, online, and on-campus orientation activities.
• Supervise Orientation Leaders; recruit, hire, and train the Orientation Leaders.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff assigned to New Student Orientation programming.
• Serve as co-chair to the Orientation Committee within the Student Development Division.
• Develop and maintain written procedures and update onboarding materials and platforms.
• Use institutional data, dashboards, and SIS/CRM information to communicate with students.
