Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated seeks a seasoned professional to manage new product and engineering program launches, focusing on design quality, DFMA, and upfront issue identification. You will coordinate verification builds across facilities and drive pilot production, while leading training and ensuring adherence to manufacturing standards.

The role requires strong upholstery process knowledge, experience in DFMA/DFMEA, and the ability to collaborate with engineering and plant leadership to ensure

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED with 2-4 years of relevant experience
• Fully trained in upholstery, framing, sub-upholstery, assembly, and packaging process
• Strong knowledge of La-Z-Boy manufacturing standards and tolerances
• 5 years' experience in upholstery cell operations or equivalent design time at R&D
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, upholstery notes, prints and BOMs
• Ability to write reports, create presentations, and speak effectively before groups

Responsibilities

• Review new product/engineering program information and provide kickoff questions
• Review design iterations for DFMA best practices
• Participate in new product and engineering management reviews as voice of upholstery manufacturing
• Participate in DFM builds, FMEA, and project reviews
• Recommend data-driven design modifications
• Coordinate delivery of new program verification and pilot builds across centers and suppliers
• Verify accuracy of design/engineering information such as upholstery notes, prints, and BOMs
• Ensure new program verification and pilot units are scheduled and built
• Lead training for production units on launch quality expectations
• Lead new product and engineering program review meetings with plant leadership
• Create applicable VSWIs
