General Summary of Position

This is a New Graduate RN night shift position in the Emergency Department at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital.

Unit Highlights

Welcome to MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital. The Emergency Department (ED) consists of 34 beds, including 25 main ED beds and 9 Flex Care Beds. MedStar Good Samaritan ED sees approximately 48,000 patients annually and serves as a primary stroke center. Gain valuable experience caring for patients of all ages with various medical complaints. The emergency department values teamwork, responsiveness, and flexibility to meet community needs. Take advantage of the many educational opportunities MedStar offers its nurses. Must be enrolled in or graduated from an accredited nursing program. ED Tech, Practicum, or Extern experience is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse, you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families with needs ranging from uncomplicated to highly complex. You will identify current and potential complex problems within specific patient populations, critically analyze trends and changes in patient status, and plan appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Prior clinical nursing experience preferred.
• Active MD RN License or active Compact State RN license and Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required.

This position has a hiring range of $35.00 - $56.91 per hour.
