Job summary

Methodist Hospital Texsan, part of Methodist Healthcare, offers a paid RN Residency Program designed to bridge the gap from student nurse to registered nurse with hands-on clinical experiences and a supportive learning environment.

Participants rotate through advanced clinical training, monthly education, and preceptorships, under nurse educators and experienced staff, as they transition into independent patient care.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS certification required within 1 year of employment.
• No prior nursing experience required for program entry.
• Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse Permit in Texas required.
• Certification requirements may be updated during employment.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition at admission and during shifts; report changes.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, and document care in medical records.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor therapeutic response.
• Provide prompt, exceptional patient-centered care and anticipate needs.
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment, and follow-up plans.
