Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred
• Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas by the beginning of the residency required
• Current Basic Life Support Certification
• Residency is open to new graduate nurses or experienced RNs with less than one year experience
• Additional Certification as required by Department

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment through communication and teamwork
• Directs and supervises other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams
• Provides age/developmentally appropriate care using the nursing process
• Ensures safe, therapeutic environment and accurate documentation
• Participates in nurse residency activities and preceptor-led rotations
