Job summary

HCA Healthcare's Residency Program at Research Medical Center in Kansas City offers a year-long, paid transition from student nurse to registered nurse, with hands-on training, mentorship from experienced educators, and a supportive nursing community.

You will rotate through specialty areas, complete simulations and a capstone project, and receive ongoing educational sessions to build clinical skills and confidence for the next step in your nursing career.

Qualifications

• RN Residency requires a nursing degree and active RN license or graduate nurse status.
• CRITICAL: BLS certification within 30 days and ACLS within 12 months of employment.
• Some additional certifications may be required during employment.
• No prior nursing experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting changes.
• Perform procedures and monitor patients as ordered, documenting care timely.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and respond to requests promptly.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up care.
