Job summary

Baptist Health Shelby in Alabaster, AL is seeking a Graduate Nurse for a full-time night shift (7a-7p) with every 3rd weekend. You will administer bedside patient care in an acute care setting, under supervision, on a hospital floor or observation unit with diverse cases.

Located in Alabaster, this 252-bed facility offers advanced imaging and treatment capabilities and a strong commitment to community health.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Authorized by the Alabama Board of Nursing to practice as a graduate nurse with a Graduate Nurse letter.
• Authorized to take the NCLEX examination.
• Meets Baptist Health and unit requirements for competency.
• Must obtain Alabama RN licensure or NLC within 3 months of placement.
• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification; ACLS/NRP/PALS/TNCC may be required for certain areas.

Responsibilities

• Administers bedside patient care under supervision.
• Assesses patient needs and revises care plans.
• Collaborates with healthcare team to plan and manage care.
• Demonstrates age-specific nursing knowledge across units.
• Acts as preceptor, charge nurse, or unit educator as needed.
• Documents care and ensures patient safety and regulatory compliance.
• Participates in staff development and performance improvement activities.

Graduate Nurse license (AL BON)

RN license (AL or NLC)

NCLEX eligibility

BLS Certification

ACLS/NRP/PALS/TNCC required in some areas
