Mercy is seeking a Critical Care Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to join the ICU Stepdown team in Missouri. You will provide nursing care for intermediate‑acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg, using evidence‑based practices and strong clinical judgment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current Missouri RN license or compact license.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS/NIHSS or Stepdown certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality care for intermediate‑acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg level.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using evidence‑based practices.
• Perform accurate hand‑offs and bedside shift reporting to maintain patient safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and multidisciplinary partners to optimize patient outcomes.
• Administer medications, monitor complex conditions, and support recovery.
• Participate in huddles, shared governance activities, and unit‑based quality improvement initiatives.
