Job summary

HCA Healthcare invites new graduate nurses to join the RN Residency Program at Research Medical Center in Kansas City. This paid, year‑long program provides hands-on experience, mentorship, and structured learning experiences to bridge the transition from student to registered nurse.

Opportunities span ICU, progressive care, PCUs, and specialty units across several KC-area hospitals, with biweekly start dates and a supportive nurse education team guiding you through the transition.

Qualifications

• BLS obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS obtained within 1 year of employment.
• Other Certifications may be required during employment.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
• Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
• No previous experience needed.
• Some travel may be needed for training.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting changes.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or functions as ordered by the medical provider; document the care provided.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor response; notify provider if needed.
• Deliver exceptional care by promptly responding to patient requests and anticipating needs.
• Educate patients, families and caregivers about condition, treatment plan, and follow‑up measures.
