Job summary

HCA Healthcare is offering a Nurse Residency program at Overland Park Regional Medical Center for new graduate RNs. This paid residency provides hands-on clinical experiences, preceptorship, and structured education to ease transition from student to registered nurse.

You will work in high-acuity units and receive mentorship from experienced nurse leaders. The program emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and development toward roles in ICU/Neuro ICU/CVICU.

Qualifications

• Must have Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of employment.
• RN license or eligible Graduate Nurse in the state.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• No previous experience required.
• Some travel may be needed for training.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition at admission and each shift.
• Assist with procedures and document care in the medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, plans and meds.
• Collaborate with care team on evidence-based practices.
