Job summary

HCA Healthcare invites new graduate nurses to join the Research Medical Center RN Residency Program, a paid year-long transition designed to build clinical and critical-thinking skills. You will be supported by nurse educators, experienced nurses, and peers as you progress from student to registered nurse.

We offer start dates every two weeks to align with graduation and NCLEX timelines, with opportunities across ICU, PCU, step-down units and specialty areas within select Kansas City hospitals.

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS within 1 year of employment.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Registered Nurse license or Graduate Nurse in the state.
• No prior nursing experience required.
• Some travel may be needed for training.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting changes.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered; document care promptly.
• Administer prescribed medications; monitor response and notify provider as appropriate.
• Provide compassionate, responsive care; anticipate and resolve patient needs.
• Educate patients, families and caregivers about condition, plan, medications and follow-up.
