Job summary

Qualifications

• Unlicensed graduate of an accredited BSN or ADN program with completed clinical coursework.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient care needs by answering call lights and assisting with hygiene and nutrition.
• Perform clinical skills such as IVs, Foley catheters, NG tubes, venipuncture, wound care, and documenting vital signs and intake/output.
• Perform secondary assessments alongside RN.
• Provide patient and family education regarding disease processes, medications, treatments, and the plan of care.
• May administer medications under the direct supervision of an RN with required dual sign-off.
• Document patient care with RN review and co-signature as required.
• Assist nurses and physicians within established scope of practice and demonstrated competencies.
• Actively contribute to achieving patient experience and quality care goals.
• Assist with patient transfers, admissions, and discharges per safe patient handling practices.
