Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a new graduate RN for the Nurse Residency Program at St. James Hospital in Butte, MT.

The 36-hour/week position offers a night shift and a pathway from classroom to confident clinical practice through paid training, webinars, simulations, and weekly mentor support. Ideal candidates are graduating by December 2026, with a BSN preferred within four years and active Montana RN licensure.

Qualifications

• BSN degree from an accredited program required within 4 years unless 15 years of acute care service; ASN/ADN grandfather clause for legacy hires
• Montana RN license current upon hire
• BLS certification upon hire; ACLS within 9 months for ICU/ED RN; TNCC within 12 months for ICU/ED; PALS within 9 months for ICU/ED/5th main; OCN preferred for Oncology RNs

Responsibilities

• Assess, recognize and address patients’ psychological and physical needs
• Foster quality of care with the best interests of patients and families
• Communicate compassionately and effectively
• Develop individualized treatment plans with the healthcare team
• Oversee care delivered by LPNs and CNAs
• Participate in clinical team conferences
• Follow hospital, regulatory and professional guidelines and policies
