Mercy Hospital St. Louis offers a 16-week Labor & Birth Nurse Residency for new graduates, designed to ease the transition from student nurse to professional RN through immersive learning, mentorship, and hands-on clinical experience.

Join the largest birthing center in the St. Louis region, work full-time nights, and gain advanced skills in fetal monitoring, patient advocacy, and teamwork with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, NICU staff, and surgical teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current RN license or eligibility to practice in Missouri.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based patient care.
• Develop and manage individualized patient care plans.
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changing patient conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams.
• Conduct bedside handoffs and patient safety reporting.
• Educate patients and families throughout their care journey.
• Utilize diagnostic, laboratory, and fetal monitoring data.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Support professional growth through ongoing education and certifications.
• Serve as a patient advocate while promoting exceptional outcomes.
