Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis is hiring New Graduate RN for Labor & Birth. This is a full-time night position with January & February residency cohorts available, located at the largest birthing center in the St. Louis region.

The 16-week Labor & Birth Nurse Residency supports new graduates with immersive learning, mentorship, and hands-on clinical experience to transition from student nurse to professional RN in women's and infant health.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current RN License or eligibility for licensure in Missouri.
• BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (or obtained within 30 days of hire).
• Additional Certifications May Include ACLS, NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E., C-EFM, PALS, and other unit-specific certifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based patient care.
• Develop and manage individualized patient care plans.
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changing patient conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams.
• Conduct bedside handoffs and patient safety reporting.
• Educate patients and families throughout their care journey.
• Utilize diagnostic, laboratory, and fetal monitoring data.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Support professional growth through ongoing education and certifications.
• Serve as a patient advocate while promoting exceptional outcomes.
