Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking new graduate RNs to join the Labor & Birth Nursing team for a 16-week residency and ongoing support. This full-time night position offers mentorship and hands-on clinical experience in a premier birthing center.

As a resident, you’ll deliver care, collaborate with physicians and specialists, and build advanced skills in fetal monitoring, patient assessment, and family education while growing your nursing career.

Qualifications

• Graduate nursing program and Missouri RN eligibility required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire recommended.
• Hands-on clinical learning and mentorship in labor & birth.
• Unit-specific certifications may be required or encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based patient care
• Develop and manage individualized patient care plans
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changing patient conditions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams
• Conduct bedside handoffs and patient safety reporting
• Educate patients and families throughout their care journey
• Utilize diagnostic, laboratory, and fetal monitoring data
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Support professional growth through ongoing education and certifications
• Serve as a patient advocate while promoting exceptional outcomes
