Job summary

HNTB is seeking an on-site construction inspector to support daily inspection activities across multiple trades on Connecticut projects. The role focuses on ensuring contractor work complies with plans, specs, and contract provisions while maintaining detailed logs and on-site measurements.

The position targets current or former HNTB interns, requiring a high school diploma or GED and 3 years of construction-related experience, plus jurisdictional certificates and state requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 3 years of construction related experience.
• All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with contract documents and plans.
• Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform standard mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work to date.
• Maintains Inspector's daily report of assigned work activities, contractor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified.
• Performs on-site material testing and produces as-constructed sketches as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
