Job summary

HNTB Corporation in Rocky Hill, CT is seeking a Field Inspector to support multiple complex projects. You will inspect, document, verify work in progress, prepare daily/weekly reports, and coordinate with the contractor to ensure conformance with plans and specs.

You may mentor junior inspectors and participate in on-site testing and sketches. This role requires a high school diploma with extensive construction experience and relevant certifications; a BS in field inspection or NICET/CMIT levels

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 9 years of construction related experience.
• All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements.
• BS with 4 years of Field Inspection Experience
• CMIT Level 4 or NICET Level 3 with 6 years of overall experience including 4 in Field Inspection.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with project schedule, contract documents and plans.
• Advises Contractor superintendent of necessary actions to ensure conformance with plan, specs, and contract.
• Reviews Inspector's daily report of assigned work activities, contractor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified.
• Performs on-site material testing and produces as-constructed sketches.
