Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian 6D Neurosurgery is seeking a Full-Time Patient Care Technician to perform routine patient care and assist with ADLs under RN guidance. The role involves rotating shift work including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, and may include 12‑hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Rotating shifts including daytime, evening, overnight, weekend and holiday shifts.
• 12-hour shifts with possible 8-hour/12-hour mix.
• Mandatory training course completion required.
• Deliver routine patient care under nursing/physician supervision.
• Assist with ADLs and basic patient monitoring as directed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver routine patient care and support services following policies.
• Under the direction of nurses/physicians, maintain high-quality patient care.
• Assist with ADLs such as bathing, feeding, transport, toileting, ambulation, turning, repositioning, glucose monitoring.
• Take vital signs, perform basic dressings, EKGs, bladder scans, and specimen collection.
• Report equipment issues and communicate with the healthcare team.
• Ensure safety, professionalism, and accurate documentation of patient information.
