Job summary

UPMC East is hiring a Full-Time Patient Care Tech to support the 5 West Neuro Dept. The role requires performing nursing assistant duties, ADLs, and assisting with patient procedures.

The technician will work 12-hour shifts, alternating between day and night, with responsibilities across patient care, vitals, and documentation. Ideal candidates will have experience in nursing assistant tasks, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with RNs and other health care

Qualifications

• Experience performing nursing core nursing assistant duties.
• Ability to perform ADLs and monitoring tasks.
• Good communication within health care team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient procedures and activities of daily living.
• Support physical, respiratory and cardiopulmonary therapy as directed.
• Record glucose, vital signs, I&O, and specimen collections.
• Report patient status changes to RN.
• Maintain equipment and report malfunctions.
• Document in medical records per procedures.
