Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the busy Neurosurgery team at Jefferson Hospital. The role involves outpatient, inpatient, and surgical settings with a multidisciplinary team, call rotation, and potential travel between affiliated sites.

The successful candidate will hold a PA degree, maintain licensure, and demonstrate strong clinical judgment and communication skills to deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies is required.
• Current PA license and PA-C or board eligibility.
• Substitutions allow 4–10 years of related experience.
• Preferred: 1 year of APP experience in neurosurgery/critical care.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates diagnostic and emergency care, orders and interprets labs and imaging.
• Prescribes medications, administers injections, and performs minor procedures.
• Coordinates complex care with patients, families, and the care team.
• Provides care in critical/inpatient settings with accurate documentation.
• Educates patients and families, ensuring continuity of care across settings.
• Maintains ongoing professional education and quality improvement involvement.
• Assists in surgical procedures or interventional procedures under supervision.
• Performs other duties with privileging and scope of practice.
