Jefferson University Physicians in Philadelphia seeks an Advanced Practice Clinician (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for the Inpatient Neurosurgery Service. The role provides comprehensive inpatient neurosurgical care as a core team member with responsibilities spanning assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.

Responsibilities include leading history and physicals, interpreting data, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team, and documenting progress in the medical record.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree required.
• National Board Certification as Acute Care NP or PA.
• BLS certification.
• Work shift: rotating (United States).

Aufgaben

• Perform complete history & physicals; order and collect data with appropriate assessment techniques.
• Serve as first responder for patient status changes, supporting procedural and resuscitative interventions.
• Assess risks associated with acute and complex chronic patients, including medication side effects, immobility, nutrition, fluid/electrolyte balance, immune status, invasive interventions, and diagnostic procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to make diagnoses of acute and complex chronic conditions; manage diagnostic tests through ordering, interpretation, performance, and supervision.
• Formulate differential diagnoses by priority and diagnose complications, ordering appropriate interventions.
• Identify expected outcomes and formulate & document a dynamic plan of care using evidence‑based guidelines; implement and modify plan as needed.
• Prescribe diagnostic strategies and therapeutic interventions; perform advanced procedures within scope of privileges.
• Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary team; facilitate communication with patient, family, and staff to promote continuity of care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Document key components of patient progress via daily progress notes, transfer, discharge summaries, and clinic notes in the medical record, ensuring timely, compliant documentation that captures patient acuity.
• Demonstrate professional practice behaviors: preceptor/mentoring, education, instruction of graduate students; seek research and evidence‑based practice opportunities; participate in grand rounds and specialty‑specific meetings; maintain CEUs and membership in a professional organization.
