Job summary

Munson Healthcare's Neurosurgery team seeks a Neurossurgical Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to assist in medical and surgical management of neurosurgery patients under the supervision of the attending Neurosurgeon. The APP will conduct H&Ps, rounds, orders, and discharge planning with a focus on patient safety and quality of care.

On-call responsibilities are required, with duties including ED consults, OR coordination, and collaboration with the Neurosurgery team to support patient care

Qualifications

• Licensed by the State of Michigan to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Master of Science degree in Nursing and ANCC or ACNP board certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Two years of work experience as a clinical practitioner performing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic tasks related to surgery preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical and surgical management of neurosurgery patients under supervision of the attending neurosurgeon.
• Perform history and physical examinations, admission notes, daily progress notes, orders, and discharge summaries.
• Respond to ED consults, coordinate with OR scheduling, and participate in the OR if required.
• Maintain thorough documentation in the medical record and ensure patient safety.
