Job summary

Duke University Hospital and Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for the Department of Neurosurgery.

The APP will deliver direct patient care in collaboration with the supervising physician for patients with hydrocephalus, intracranial hypertension, Chiari, and trauma follow-up, with primary hours Monday through Friday 7:30 AM–5:00 PM and flexibility for in-hospital consults.

Qualifications

• NP: Accredited NP program with a Master's in Nursing.
• PA: Accredited PA program; Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in collaboration with the supervising physician.
• Perform lumbar punctures and other basic procedures as needed.
• Take histories, conduct examinations, and document findings in the medical record.
• Order and schedule labs and imaging; coordinate patient care and referrals.
• Assist in teaching, research, and rounding for neurosurgical patients.
