Job summary

Banner Health in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Neurosurgery-BDMC. You will assist clinicians, prepare patients, perform vaccinations and point-of-care testing, and help coordinate referrals.

This role offers opportunities for certification advancement, on-the-job training, and tuition assistance with a path from MA to RN etc. You will work Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm with scrub allowance and potential sign-on details discussed at interview.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Banner-approved Medical Assistant program.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams and treatments, document vital signs and chief complaints.
• Assist clinicians with exams and minor procedures, including phlebotomy and EKGs.
• Coordinate care with referrals, pre-certifications, and scheduling across clinic and hospital settings.
• Document patient encounters in medical records and ensure accurate billing information.
• Maintain clean clinical areas and ensure proper sterilization and PPE usage.
• Order and stock supplies, manage medication inventories and recalls.
• Communicate with patients and families to support care and education.
