Job summary

Banner University Medical Group in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians and nursing staff in a busy clinic. You will manage vital signs, venipuncture, EKGs, injections, and patient prep for exams.

The role includes coordinating referrals, processing paperwork for tests and treatments, and providing clerical support for accurate billing records. A scrub allowance is provided and there are growth opportunities within Banner Health.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Banner approved MA training program meeting state regulations.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification required.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• Strong computer skills and ability to work with medical software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an organized fashion.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs and symptoms.
• Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures (blood pressure, temperature, phlebotomy, EKG).
• Coordinates and manages patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling.
• Provides clerical support and accurate documentation for billing and records.
• Maintains clean and safe clinical environments and follows OSHA guidelines.
• Orders supplies and manages medication-related tasks.
• Develops effective communication with patients and other staff.
• Completes onboarding/orientation activities and simulation training.
